Track & Trace

Track & Trace
  • “In the past, missing items led to free replacements because we had no details. With Track & Trace, we now provide full pallet contents, strengthening customer confidence in our deliveries.”.
  • “After integrating Track & Trace, we noticed pallets sometimes disappeared in transit. We can now easily identify and address this issue with the delivery company.”
  • “By offering a comprehensive list of items by pallet, order number, delivery note, we have reduced customer check-in times by 60%“

Track & Trace

  • The creation of Track & Trace followed many tough manufacturer-customer discussions. Companies once used handwritten ‘tick-off’ sheets. Pallets were often unpacked upon arrival, letting customers easily blame suppliers for any missing items.
  • During system setup, you decide when in your process to print product labels and where to scan them. The system generates a unique QR code for each item, which is attached to the product.
  • At the packing station, the operator takes a pallet label, scans a command code to open a pallet in the system. Products are then scanned onto this pallet. Multiple pallets can be open at the same time.

The sequence is simple: scan the pallet number, then scan the product label. System checks are in place to ensure data accuracy, such as flagging a product label that is scanned more than once. Remember each item is unique and can only be scanned once.

When the pallet is fully loaded, the operator scans a pallet close command. They can choose ‘single’ or ‘double pallet’ closure to provide a count for lorry space allocation.

After the pallet is closed, the operator prints a list of contents and attaches to the pallet and emailed as required. The system retains all the data for reporting and traceability.

  • “At first, I thought the system would create more work for me. But after using it, my job is much faster, and I have all the data to support the process.“
  • “I often got calls from customers logging ‘missing items.’ After providing reports with scanned times and pallet details, I was taken aback by the number of apologies I received.”
  • “For large contract jobs, we use the system to include room number references on product labels. It’s a huge time-saver when products are delivered to-site“.
